About Us

Our History

Darul Islah was established in the 1970s as an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Located in Teaneck, New Jersey, it is the first and largest mosque serving Muslims in Bergen County and the greater North Jersey area.

Founded with the mission of upholding, preserving, and sharing the teachings of Islam, Darul Islah has grown from a neighborhood masjid into a vibrant community center. Today, it provides a wide range of services and programs including Islamic education, youth engagement, social and support services, volunteer opportunities, and community outreach.

To be the leading Islamic center in Bergen County in providing services for the community for upholding, preserving, and propagating the religion of Islam.

Mission

To engage all members of the community in attaining and maintaining God-consciousness (taqwa) through various programs, services, prayers, and events.

Our Imams

Imam

Imam Saeed Qureshi has been Imam of Darul Islah for many years and along with many other responsibilities plays a key role in several educational programs at Darul Islah. Imam Saeed Qureshi memorized The Holy Quran & obtained Sanad in Tajweed in his early age. He graduated from University of Peshawar with Arabic & Islamic Studies. He also studied Shariah & Law in international Islamic University, Islamabad. He practiced law for a few years then served as a lecturer in Government Graduate College before moving to USA.

Shaykh Waleed Elbatrawish

Shaykh Waleed Elbatrawish

Director of Schools

Shaykh Waleed Elbatrawish is one of our dedicated Imams at Darul Islah in New Jersey and serves as the Director of Hifz Academy at Darul Islah. He graduated from Al-Azhar Alshareef in Egypt and holds several Ijazahs in the seven Qira’at.

He’s well-known as one of the leading Quran judges in the USA and has shared his beautiful recitation internationally on radio and TV. Shaykh Waleed has spoken at the United Nations and regularly visits different masjids across the country as a guest speaker. He also serves the community as a Muslim chaplain in hospitals and prisons, offering spiritual care and support.
